pre-holiday madness

I went out looking for Sherlock and ended up with
Also, totes ready for the holidays. I never want to take these off.
DEATHLY HALLOWS.....SPOILERS! Kind of.
No worries, this will be a short reaction. I'm still recovering. It was EPIC. Ron was perfect. There was not nearly enough of Snape(seriously? ONE scene?) I cried a bit, mostly Gred and Forge and Dobby. Could have done with not having some plot bits cut out to make room for...non....plot....things. I wanted more of the characters they keep forgetting about. Like, you know, Remus, Luna, Snape, Neville, Ginny, Lucius, Snape, Draco, Voldy, Weasleys and Snape?
Oh yeah, and sudden Bill was awesome. And pretty.
That's it. I'm getting ready for a very vegetarian/vegan Thanksgiving. Knitting and watching basic cable TV.
Just another Monday.

a study in socks: the sequel

I survived the heel, flap and gusset. Looks a bit different than I expected, but looks like a sock. Which was the ultimate goal.
Down side: I may not have enough yarn left to make a second sock. So this may just be a legendary single sock that will constantly be mismatched whenever I wear it.
P.S. Watching Party Down, new favorite awkward life show, while knitting.

a study in socks

Progress of my first set of sock knitting.
Nearing the part that I'm most worried about...this heel. Dun dun dun!

toasty and colorful feet...I like 'em

After years of putting it off, I'm finally going to knit socks.
Now to find a decent pattern that won't hurt my brain. If anyone's done so, suggestions and tips are love.

I keep failing to regularly update like I promised I would. I know. No gold star for me this week.
So, a quick update of sorts until I actually start to be productive and get pictures onto my laptop.

1. Went on a mini road trip with Ashlee and Susan. We rode horses! And yes there is proof coming so soon.
Side note: manual cameras are awesome but a pain to share in the digital world. And I have my eyes on getting a Holga.
2. Stumped over what to do now that it's warmer out and knitting no longer seem appropriate. Desperately trying to work with Ashlee's sewing machine in order to do...something. If my current attempt to adjust a t-shirt to fit me works, I'll gleefully share and continue with more such projects.
3. I really like bullet point lists.
4. I want these socks from Fred Flare In fact, I want to have a field day at that site.
