DIY Halloween

A Beetlejuice jacket for Dan. Would have taken a lot less time had it been a white suit with black paint instead of vice versa. Still, looks awesome.
And because the world doesn't want me to find where they keep all the orange knee high's, hand dyed Velma socks.

Geektastic Thursday: All About Merlin

Well, actually, all about his scarf collection.

This show is my not so guilty pleasure. Pish posh about historical and literary acuracy, I watch for the bromace between Merlin and Arthur.
Side note: Colin Morgan is adorable.
And though his scarf is not knitted, I had some yarn I didn't know what to do with and...well, made an homage to it.
Also I promise to take a picture of my Halloween costume once all the pieces are together. Hint: geeky sleuth. Okay, that was a big hint.

Obligatory Food Post

A short one cause I'm scrambling to put together a costume for Friday. No, I'm not going to be something I previously said I really wanted to be. Apparently, there's a shortage of cheerleaders in Chicago at the moment. Or too many and they've taken all the generic outfits with them. And no, I have no idea what I'll be now.

Oh well, the real reason I celebrate Halloween....
The breakfast of champions.
And for lunch....spinach, tomato, pasta sauce and brick cheese on a tortilla.
My cheep girl's pizza for one. On a Thomas the Tank plate cause I'm also the height of class.

A Trifecta of Geekery

My poor computer has failed me and I'm borrowing my sister's mini one till mine gets better. Hence, the lack of posts.
So my geeky Thursday is geeky Friday and all over the place.
MARTIN FREEMAN IS GOING TO BE BILBO! I could not be happier about this.
In other news....
I've made two Jayne hats in the past week. Neither for me, but still, always love making it,
And I finally got around to photographing the Death Eater arm warmers I made a long long time ago.

Putting mah reading hat on

Scrap hats are the best kind of hats.

Also decided to finally crack open The Hunger Games since so many people I know are losing their minds over it. I'm worried, to say the least, since someone said it was written in first person present tense (yes, I'm a creative writing major snob sometimes).

P.S. Fart Party. New favorite comic. It's basically my life; though I lack the artistic talent of Jula Wertz.

Popping my pie cherry

I've finally buckled down and made my first pie. From scratch!
The reason I don't cook/bake from scratch.

Worth it.

Charming Distractions

I've been sadly uninspired in the crafting department. So today's geektastic Thursday is being preempted for some pretty and nerdy men in sweaters.
Enjoy.

Costume time!

Though not quite. I keep changing my mind on what I want to be, so it'll probably come down to how many costume related things I'll be going to and how much it'll cost to do any of these.
My top three as of right now.
A Cheerio.
Sailor Jupiter(if I suddenly come into money and can afford it).
 Toph from Avatar.
I personally like the fire nation outfit more, but it'll be more time consuming to make.
I was also considering being a contestant from Legends of the Hidden Temple, but I think that would work better as a couple-ly costume.
